A digital romance: How is technology shaping our relationships?
Join MAKE for a digital conversation on the most human of topics: relationships. We'll be discussing how far digital is disrupting our relationships, and hearing from those who are innovating in this area. Speakers include Mattias Hulting, Co-Founder of Smile Makers and Jamie Lee, Co-Founder of Viola.AI.
Digital has revolutionised every aspect of our lives: school, work, and play. So it’s no surprise that our relationships have also been disrupted, now that we have the ability to connect with anyone easily, and anywhere.
Gone are the days where you’d be at the mercy of your closest social circles (and their parents!) - smartphone-based dating apps can match you with people the world over with a multitude of interests. Some studies even estimate that online dating has changed the make-up of our relationships by leading to longer, better pairings.
After sold out events on social media, digital nomads and UX, our fourth event takes a look at the opportunities and challenges that digital has brought to our distinctly human connections.
How can we make the most of what digital has to offer our relationships, whilst avoiding common pitfalls? What can we learn from our responses to digital love? And how can we ensure we remain connected with (and in) the real world, as well as the digital?
These are just some of the questions we'll be covering off as part of the evening which spans 3 rapidfire talks, breakout sessions and, of course, some informal networking over drinks.
The event will be held at Collision 8, a super-cool coworking space in the heart of the CBD (and with a killer view), on Feb 8 at 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Registration is from 7pm with talks beginning at 7.30pm.
We can’t wait to MAKE Digital with you.
What is MAKE Digital?
